Drag Race UK finalist Krystal Versace said she had a more “heated” argument with Scarlett Harlett that didn’t make it to air.

The contestants were at loggerheads in episode seven of the third season.

The mood in the werkroom bristled with tension when Scarlett compared the queen’s look to that of Anubis, the first competitor told to “Sashay away” by RuPaul.

But the 19-year-old told PinkNews and other press outlets at a roundtable Tuesday (23 November) that there was much more to their dust-up than what viewers saw.

Asked whether there were any scenes that didn’t make the final cut, Krystal Versace said: “I think the drama with Scarlett.

“I was really kind of gutted that they didn’t leave a lot of that in because that was more heated in person than it was shown.

“I said a lot more. There was quite a heated argument.

“Obviously, there’s so much love now, I love Scarlet. But it would have made such good TV because I literally sat there and went: I’m not buying it, I’m not buying it.

“And apparently, I kept saying over and over again. I don’t even remember. But I was over it.

“Like I was p**sed off. And they cut that out, which would have been great.”

Ella Vaday reveals which queen almost refused to lip-sync

After what has felt like four years crammed into nine weeks, the finale of Drag Race UK has finally arrived.

Finalists Krystal Versace, Ella Vaday and Kitty Scott-Claus will go against each other as they battle to become Britain’s drag queen superstar.

Vaday revealed that one of the queens almost refused to lip-sync – so she took them aside to give them a much-needed pep talk.

“I think it was when Vanity was gonna have to lip-sync with [Elektra Fence],” she recalled “and [Vanity Milan] wasn’t going to do it.

“And I was like: ‘Vanity you need to do it, you have to do this, you have to show them what you’ve got’.”

She added that much of what was edited out in the earlier seasons made Vaday seem shyer than what she really is

“Even in the sewing challenge,” she said, “I helped so many girls thread their machines and was helping a lot of people, but I think because they kind of portrayed me as struggling it didn’t make the edit.

“So I think I came across a bit quieter than I think I was in reality.”

As much as many of the finalists’ cut moments were high drama, it was the tender little things that Scott-Claus wishes were filmed.

“Like being stood waiting to go on the runway and just holding hands,” she said.

“We’re human at the end of the day and we’re going through this like, most incredible experience, and there’s only these 11 other people in the entire world who are going to have the exact same experience as you.”
